Solid Waste and Recycling
Hill Country Waste Solutions (HCWS) serves as the City’s sole provider of trash and recycling services. Participation in solid waste services is mandatory for all residents and business owners located within the City of Johnson City.
Trash service occurs weekly on Thursdays. Recycling service occurs biweekly on Thursdays. The biweekly recycling schedule is broken up into two (2) groups: Group “A” is properties located North of US Hwy. 290 and A. Robinson Road. Group “B” is properties located South of US Hwy. 290 and A. Robinson Road. Click HERE for Group “A” and “B” calendars and a map.
Please place trash in the tote with the orange lid and along the curb before 7 a.m. every Thursday. Please place recyclables in the tote with the green lid and along the curb before 7 a.m. every other Thursday, depending on whether your residence is located within the “A” or “B” Group. We are pleased to now offer residents and business owners an expanded list of services. Residents will no longer need to transport and dispose of brush and bulky items at the Waste Connections Transfer Station. HCWS will provide 8 cu. yds. of combined brush and bulky item curbside service twice per year in September and March. Click HERE for curbside service dates.
