Kathleen Marie Studio

I am a wildlife and nature artist specializing in the medium of Pyrography. A deep affinity for wood, wildlife and the creative process combine to make my work a passionate practice. Each piece takes root in a personal experience and begins to evolve when I find the perfect wood to express my experiences, observations and inspirations. So each piece has a story behind it. I work in concert with the wood as my partner rather than as simply a "canvas". It may take years for me to hear what the wood is trying to tell me so I have learned to wait. This is a challenging but wonderful medium.

I host an Open House at my studio/gallery the 4th weekend in October. As well as seeing new art you are introduced to the rainwater system, passive solar heating of the studio, hikes of the property led by Master Gardeners and live music by Local Artists. So save the date and also feel free to call and set up your own private studio visit. I always have works in progress.
Enjoy the Hill Country! Experience the Fine Art of Pyro-engraving (a.k.a. Woodburning on Steroids)
